The emotions this book brings to the surface is breath-takingly beautiful. The strength found within these pages is unlike any other book I have read. This is a must read and a great book club option. It is heartbreaking yet shows the beauty of friendship and forgiveness.

Questions:

"How does one live for seventeen years without ever considering whether she is known?"

Do you feel known?

What makes someone 'known'?

There was a lot of prejudice when talking about Wilson Moon.

What prejudice have you faced or witnessed?

How has prejudice changed throughout history?

Can anyone be truly immune from prejudice?

"Just as a single rainstorm can erode the banks and change the course of a river, so can a single circumstance of a girl's life erase who she was before."

What was that circumstance for you?

Do you think your 'former you' can truly be erased?

"They say there is a merciful amnesia that accompanies giving birth, and perhaps this is true, for I cannot recall many details of my son's arrival."

Is this true for you? Do you remember or forget about your children's birth?

Was leaving her baby the only option Victoria had?

Was it truly her best option?

How would the story be different if she kept the baby?

Seth did not kill Wilson Moon, but he watched it happen.

Is Seth just as guilty as Forrest Davis?

Are Seth's actions (or lack thereof) forgivable?

"Carrying your sorrows all alone isn't strength, V. It's punishment, plain and simple. Whatever happened to you, you've got to stop blaming yourself.:

Share a time when sharing your sorrow has provided you strength.

Why do you think sharing sorrow provides strength?

Why is keeping sorrow private like a punishment?

Do you think Inga was too harsh on herself or rightly harsh when it pertains to how her sons turned out?

How do you imagine the relationship between Victoria, Inga and Lukas continued after the book ended?
